The idea to create a specialized center for the treatment and follow-up of childhood chronic diseases came up in 1992, as an answer to the urgent needs expressed by the medical community and the patients' families.
November 12, 1992 : The first stone was laid down on the new construction site at Baabda, Lebanon.
January 22, 1993: The Chronic Care Center's Association has been officially founded by ministerial decree, number: 18/AD.

May 29, 1993: A memorable telethon held by the Chronic Care Center succeeded in mobilizing a whole nation and marked a significant social action and solidarity movement for the fight against Thalassemia and Insulin Dependent Diabetes. This major event, followed by several fundraising campaigns in Lebanon and aboard, created an admirable network of solidarity towards the children suffering from chronic diseases. |
June 8, 1994: Chronic Care Center's Inauguration. An official Ceremony was held in the presence of local dignitaries, key official leaders and scientists from all over the world. The Inauguration Ceremony was followed by a Concert and a Gala Dinner at Al Bustan Hotel. The Chronic Care Center's foundation is the result of countless generous efforts. It will be impossible to list in this document the names of all the friends of the Center who have supported its action in the past, and are still supporting it until today. Their names are forever engraved in the entrance hall and in the hearts of our children.
