The genetic laboratory at the chronic care center is one of the leading laboratories in Lebanon, which performs state-of-the-art testing for inherited and congenital disorders. It provides the full range of genetic screening, prenatal diagnosis and prevention services as well as extensive research programs into genetic diseases. Our principal objective is to carry out research into a number of genetic disorders, and contribute in creating a database for genetic diseases in Arab population in collaboration with the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health, academic institutes and other research laboratories throughout Lebanon and abroad. These entire activities serve our overall mission to provide new knowledge which will ultimately improve human health in general and more specifically management and care for patients affected with genetic disorders in Lebanon and Arab countries.
